Asiha Sameerah Henry was born on November 27, 1972, in Fort Worth, Texas, to Alice Henry and the late Isidore Henry Jr. She received her early education at David K. Sellars Elementary School, Glenn Crest Middle School, and Forest Oak Middle School, and graduated from Green B. Trimble Technical High School in 1991 as Salutatorian.
During high school, Asiha distinguished herself as an exceptional leader and scholar. She served as Student Council President, First Vice President of the Senior Class, Head Drum Major, Secretary of the National Honor Society, and Chairperson of Community Service Projects for the Foley’s Teen Board. Her academic excellence earned her a scholarship to Texas Tech University.
At Texas Tech University, Asiha majored in Computer Science with a minor in Mathematics. She made history as the first Black Engineering Ambassador and was initiated into Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated. She graduated with her bachelor’s degree in Spring 1996.
Asiha built an impressive and accomplished career in technology and engineering. She began her professional journey as a Computer Engineer at Texas Instruments and went on to work with KPMG, Whataburger Corporation, Walt Disney (where she served as an IT Director), American Airlines, AT&T, CenturyLink, and Halliburton, which afforded her opportunities to travel both nationally and internationally. Her final professional role was with TransCore Corporation, where she led tollway projects across several states, including Delaware, California, and Maryland.
Beyond her professional achievements, Asiha deeply cherished her family and valued time spent with loved ones. She enjoyed shopping—especially Ralph Lauren Polo—traveling, and watching cartoons, which brought her joy and relaxation.
Asiha peacefully entered eternal rest on January 16, 2026. She is reunited with her father, grandparents, aunts, and uncles. She leaves to cherish her loving memory her mother, Alice Henry (and honorary family member Samuel Holmes); her brother, Marlon Henry (Kimila); her beloved nephew-son, Marcellus Henry; her niece, Makayla Henry; special aunts Verleeta Brooks (Kenneth), Mary Terrell-Allen (Olish), and Sandra Henry; along with a host of aunts, uncles, extended family members, and dear friends.
