Barbara Ann Cantrell, 84, of Ft. Worth TX, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 3, 2024, in Rockwall, TX at home close to her family.

Barbara was born in Fort Worth, Texas to Connor Andrew Oliger and Florence Marie Ball. She was a Handley-Meadowbrook and a Pantego resident. Barbara was a polio and cancer survivor. She graduated from Polytechnic High School where her mother graduated and completed her Bachelor's in Music from Texas Wesleyan University in 1961. She was a member of Sigma Alpha Iota. Barbara married the love of her life, CM Cantrell, in 1959.

Together they adopted a son, Chad, from the Edna Gladney Center for Adoption in 1974 and gave birth to daughter, Cara, in 1978. Barbara had a thriving teaching career for over 32 years including awards such as Teacher of the Year and Outstanding Elementary Teacher in America. Throughout her life, Barbara loved the Lord and served in many capacities but prayer was her God given gift. She was a long-time member of the former Handley Baptist Church where she gave back to her community and beyond. Barbara was a very proud grandmother of three grandchildren.

Barbara is preceded in death by her husband, CM Cantrell Jr.; son, Chad Andrew Cantrell; sister-in-law Judy Cantrell Calloway.

Barbara is survived by her daughter, Cara Marie Yeo and husband Michael Khang Phong of Rockwall, TX; grandchildren, AnnMarie, AnnaBelle and Andrew.

Her legacy lives on through her beloved family, as well as numerous teachers, students, and cherished friends. Love and respected by so many, she has made an indelible impression on this earth and we shall be at peace knowing she is in God's hands.
