Barbara attended school at Peabody High School in Hillsboro, Texas. At an early age, Barbara accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Saviour.
In the workforce, Barbara was employed by the Fort Worth Public Schools as an Dietician for 20 years until she retired.
In the year 1967, Barbara united in Holy Matrimony with Thelmer Rhodes Jr. and the following year the couple moved to Copperas Cove before moving to Fort Worth, Texas in 1971.
On December 1, 2025, Barbara Louise Rhodes was called to her eternal rest in Fort Worth, Texas.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Essie and John Rayford; her sons Raymond, Kenneth and Stacey.
She leaves to cherish her precious memories: her loving husband Thelmer Rhodes Jr.; her children: Edward. Sherry, Valarie, Kathy, and Paula; grandchildren, great grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.
The funeral service is scheduled for December 9, 2025, at Berea Baptist Church, 6901 Forest Hill Dr, Forest Hill, TX 76140, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm.
The committal will take place at Mount Calm Area Cemetery, County Road 3276 North, Mount Calm, TX 76673, on December 9, 2025, from 1:30 pm to 2:30 pm.
