Belinda Annette (Pettyjohn) Collins passed away peacefully on February 27, 2024 surrounded by loving family. Belinda was born and raised in Ft Worth, TX on October 14, 1958. Her beautiful soul was the epitome of grace, compassion, kindness, love of family, and most predominantly--motherhood. Belinda's entire adult life was dedicated to raising children, both birthed and adopted equally. Her final day was spent professing her undying love for her family, children and her loving husband of 30 years, Jack Collins.
Belinda is preceded in death by her parents, Hubert and Annie Pettyjohn, sister Betty Rhodes, and brother Bobby Pettyjohn. She is survived by her husband (Jack Collins), 2 daughters (Tonya Keys and Jennifer Davis), 6 sons (Jody Pettyjohn, Roy Pettyjohn, Randy Collins, Jeffrey Harris, Dominic Franks, and David Norris), 15 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, and her brother (Johnny Pettyjohn). Belinda is also surrounded by countless nieces, nephews, cousins and other extended family.
Belinda made a wonderful life for herself as a proud Texan in Ft Worth before chasing her dream to live the beach life on the coast. Jack gave Belinda her dream, moving to the coast for 6.5 of her final 8 years--only returning to Ft Worth to be with her loving family.
A message from Belinda's children:
Mom, we are all so proud of you! We are grateful for everything you have done. Whether by blood, adoption, or guardianship, you chose to be our mother. Thank you. Thank you for giving us a better life. Thank you for giving us life. Thank you for dedicating your life to us. Thank you for choosing us. We would all choose you infinitely.
Your whole family will always love you, and we will miss you every day until we meet again.
Psalm 34:18
The Lord is close to the brokenhearted; he rescues those whose spirits are crushed.
1 Corinthians 15:22
For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ shall all be made alive.
