Visitation: 6 pm to 8 pm Friday, February 7, 2020 at Laurel Land Memorial Chapel with Rosary at 7 pm.
Funeral Mass: 12:00 pm Saturday, February 8, 2020 at St Patrick Cathedral, 1206 Throckmorton Street, Fort Worth, Texas. There will be a reception in the Parish Hall (across the street from the church) following the Funeral Mass.
Bernardo was born in San Saba, Texas on October 11, 1945. He was married to Janie Sanchez on September 23, 1995, in Fort Worth, Texas. Bernardo owned a pallet company called Sanchez and Son's Pallets. He enjoyed watching the Cowboys, (win or lose), fishing, dancing with his wife, holiday cooking, being outdoors gardening, going to church, and spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Bernardo is preceded in death by his parents, Faustino and Maria Sanchez; daughter, Melinda Sanchez; brother, Luis Tijarina; and sisters, Francis Acura and Lupe Rodriguez.
He is survived by his wife, Janie Sanchez; children, Ricky Sanchez, Victor Sanchez, Cynthia Flores (Rey), Sally Jolley, Patricia Nichols and Robert Salazar (Brook); brothers, Domingo Sanchez and Phillip Sanchez; sisters, Lillian Salazar and Emily Melendrez; 22 grandchildren, and 24 great grandchildren.
