Bernice Louise Williams (Pendergrass) also known as "Pee Wee" was born on July 17, 1954 in Charleston, South Carolina to her loving mother Doris Delesline. Shortly thereafter, she was adopted by her proud parents Nathan and Bernice Pendergrass. To her family, she was a blessing from above filled with so much love, joy and happiness. Growing up in Charleston, she attended Burke High School and received her diploma in 1972. Bernice also furthered her education by attending Trident Technical College. For 17 years, Bernice worked for the Crowley Independent School District in various roles within the Food Service and Maintenance Department. She retired from Crowley ISD in November of 2011. Bernice met her husband of 39 years, James Williams who was serving in the United States Airforce. They were married on November 7, 1981 in Charleston, South Carolina surround by loving family and friends. Bernice was a devoted mother of three (James Kevin, Jasmine and Jamal) and grandmother of five (Kyla, Kayden, Imani, Gabrielle, Riley) who loved and cherished her family deeply. She loved being around her family and never hesitated to but the needs of others before her self. She was the rock of our family. Bernice was a longtime member of the Beth Eden Baptist Church in Fort Worth,Texas. During her membership she served in the choir and the nursery ministry. Bernice loved her church family deeply and was always excited and looked forward to attending Sunday Service. In addition, she was an avid reader and enjoyed studying the bible, going to the movies, traveling and spending time with her family and friends.
On Thursday February 18, 2021, our Heavenly Father called her home In God's Kingdom she joins her son, James Kevin Williams; parents, Doris Delesline, Bernice and Nathan Pendergrass; and uncle Alexander Delesline. Those left with fond memories are her loving husband James Williams; daughter Jasmine Williams (Marco) and son Jamal Williams; granddaughters, Kyla and Imani Williams, Gabrielle and Riley Davis; grandson, Kayden Williams; her aunts, Alice green, Vivian Cromwell (Harold); nieces, Kenosha Brown Bryant, Lakisha Perdue; nephew, Antonio Perdue; brother, Charles Newbold and a host of other loving family members and friends.
