Bert Warren Qualls, beloved husband and father, passed away on Tuesday, April 16, 2019 at the age of 79 in Fort Worth, Texas. Visitation will be held at 1:00 p.m., with services following at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, April 19, 2019 at Laurel Land Chapel in Fort Worth. Interment will follow.
He was born in Rochester, Texas and moved to Fort Worth in his teen years. He married the love of his life, Judy Ray, on July 21, 1961. Together they raised three daughters and enjoyed fifty years of wedded bliss.
Bert began working at Miller Brewery when the plant opened in 1969 and he retired in 2005. He served as Treasurer of the Teamsters Union. He enjoyed golf, race cars, baseball, riding horses, snow skiing, coaching his kids’ sports teams and being with family. Bert was a Mason and a member of the Moslah Mounties and Johnson County Horse Patrol. He was also a member of the Miller Golf Club and a big fan of TCU. Anytime the Horned Frogs were playing, he was on the sidelines cheering. Bert had an infectious smile and could two-step like nobody’s business.
He was preceded in death by his wife Judy and parents Mary and Elton. He is survived by daughters Leslie (Mike), Missy (Jean-Paul) and Jennifer (Jon); grandchildren Nicci (Andersan), Nicole, Christina, Rocston, Ledger & Ella. Great Grandson Greysan. Donations can be made in his memory to the Alzheimer’s Association or JDRF.
