Betty was born in Cedar Vale, Kansas to Walter and Anna Jane Farley on July 22, 1938, she was the youngest of 5 children. The family later moved to Wellington, KS. Betty married her soulmate Harold Dean Myers on June 16, 1956. To keep these two love birds from eloping at the young ages of 17 and 18 they were married with her parents permission in her parents home.
Betty loved and cared so much for her family near and far. She was always a part of their lives in such a caring and loving way. Betty and Dean always enjoyed family time and reunions. They along with other family members were a big part of the planning and making sure the annual family reunion happened successfully for everyone to have time to be together. In fact the reunion became a Farley (Betty's side of the family) as well as a Myers (Dean's side of the family) reunion, it didn't matter to them we were all family, such a true meaning of what a family should be.
Betty never met a stranger, she loved everyone that came into her life. She was a HUGGER to everyone. It didn't matter if you liked to hug or not she was going to get her Hug! If her sisters were with her lookout, you wouldn't just get one hug you would receive many hugs. Betty also had a smile that lit up the room. When she lived her last year and half in the nursing home there was never a day that someone didn't come and get a hug and ask her for that beautiful smile of hers.
Betty and Dean were married 66 years, they weren't just soulmates they were best friends and life partners. They were the true meaning of lasting love; always holding hands, sitting by each other, kissing and hugging.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents Walter and Anna Jane Farley and her siblings George Farley, Elizabeth Hutchinson and Arlena Hyde.
Betty is survived by her husband Dean Myers, her three children - James Myers, Carrie Taylor and husband Bruce, and Brad Myers. She is also survived by her sister Lavonne O'Bryant, her 7 grandchildren - J.D., Christan, Lauren, Drew, Kelli, Kira and Michael - her 6 great grandchildren - Alexis, Kayla, Madilynn, Logan, Taylor with Mars due in September - her great great grandchild Tyson and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends she considered family.
