Service: 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Grace Bible Church with Pastor Gregg Bing officiating. Interment: Shannon Rose Hill Memorial Park. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Betty was born on Aug. 30, 1924, in Clarita, Okla., the fifth of nine children, to Joseph Abner Whiteley and Willie Gaines. She was a graduate of Wapanucka High School and became a professional seamstress, as well as an author and poet.
Betty volunteered for organizations such as the American Cancer Society, the American Heart Association and the Code Blue Patrol. She herself was a cancer survivor of 48 years. She was a member of Grace Bible Church and she lived for her family, especially her grandniece and grandnephew.
Betty was preceded in death by her loving husband, Allen Orsini; her parents; and her brothers and sisters.
Survivors: Sister, Melzine Mathis; numerous nieces and nephews; and her special grandniece, Grace Schanz and grandnephew, Joey Schanz.
