Billy Wayne Chester died unexpectedly at the age of 72 on Monday, October 4, 2021, in Fort Worth, Texas. Born the first child of Harry Lee Senior and Frances Ann Chester on August 4, 1949, in Orange County, Texas. He is preceded in death by his parents, Harry Lee Sr and Frances Ann Chester. He is survived by his oldest daughter Angela Marie Chester and husband Adam Latour of Dallas, Texas. His two sons Jason Waynne Chester and wife Shondra Chester of Wylie, Texas. Kevin Len Chester of Wylie, Texas. His youngest daughter Montana Caroline Chester and husband Francisco Chandler of Houston, Texas. Four grandchildren Kendrick, Alexis, Hailey, and Karson. Siblings and their spouses: Harry Lee Jr and Rebecca Chester, Charles and Sheila Chester, Felix Richard and Debbie Chester, Shurla and Mike Swope, Shelly and Blair Alexander, and many loving nieces and nephews. A graduate of Nederland High School in 1967, he then went to Kilgore Junior College where he earned his Associates Degree and was a two-year starter at tight end for the football team. From Kilgore Bill earned a full academic scholarship to Lamar University. At Lamar he returned to the football field and earned his Letterman. After two years Bill earned his bachelor’s in Science Health and Physical Education in 1971. Upon graduation Bill pursued a coaching career at his Alma Mater of Nederland High School. Through the mid 70’s Bill coached at a number of high schools until he was offered a job on the Stephen F. Austin coaching staff. While on the coaching staff Bill also pursued his master’s degree. In 1977 Bill earned his master’s degree in Finance and Business Administration from Stephen F Austin University in 1977. After receiving his master’s degree, Bill decided to pursue a career in banking and the oil and gas industry in the 80’s in Houston, Texas. He worked for Allied Banking where he was the Executive Vice President of their oil and gas banking accounts for Texas. During the 90’s Bill was into various business adventures. Starting in the early 2000’s he went back to the oil and gas industry and started Petroleum Engineers of Texas in 2005. In 2008 he merged Petroleum Engineers of Texas into Energy Producers, Inc and maintained the company until his death. Bill was a loving father, brother, grandfather, and uncle embraced by many friends and family who loved him and will miss him dearly. In Bill’s youth he enjoyed playing and coaching football in later life he enjoyed golfing with his son’s and friends, hunting and fishing with his brother’s and spending time with his grandchildren. He was a proud sponsor of the Texas Women’s Open for the past six years in the sport that he loved to play weekly, golf.

The viewing will be on Saturday, October 16, 2021, from 1 pm to 3 pm, at Laurel Land Funeral Home at 7100 Crowley Rd, Fort Worth, Texas 76134; the service will be held immediately after the viewing at 3 pm. He will be cremated so we will be honoring his life after the service at 4537 Ladigo Lane, Fort Worth, Texas 76126.
