It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Billy Jay Daniel, who left us on October 22, 2026, at the age of 88. He was a beloved father, grandfather, friend, and his presence will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Born on December 8, 1937, in Lubbock, Texas. Billy Jay Daniel was the child of Johnny Wayne Daniel, and Billie Ruth Daniel. He was a man who spent much of his time and resources to helping others. He showed great passion for barbering and developed relationships that lasted for decades. Above all, he loved his family. His children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and friends meant the world to him. Those who knew him will remember his willingness to help others, his dedication to his work, his love for animals, and the relationships he built along the way.
Billy Jay Daniel is survived with deep sorrow by Children: David William Daniel and Wife Lesa Daniel, DeLisa Lynn Skillern and Husband Gary Skillern, and Shari Carney; Grandchildren: Chance Mitchell, Camden Mitchell, Ryan Walls, RJ Walls, Phillip McNair, Michael Skillern, Mardi Skillern, Addyson Logan, Lauren Scott, Logan Scott. His very dear friend Deb DeSpain and many more family and friends.
Billy was preceded in death by his father Johnny Wayne Daniel, his mother Billie Ruth Daniel, his brother Johnny Ray Daniel, his former wives Darlene Daniel and Nancy Daniel, among other cousins, and family members.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Laurel Land Funeral Home of Fort Worth, 7100 Crowley Rd. Fort Worth, TX 76134, on November 4, 2026, at 2:00 pm.
A Graveside Service will take place at Laurel Land Memorial Park - FW, 7100 Crowley Rd. Fort Worth, TX 76134, on November 4, 2026.
