Bonnie was born in Clifton, Texas on November 1, 1929, to Millard and Clara Sadler. She attended school in Turnersville, Texas, the daughter of a farmer/cotton gin operator and housewife. Bonnie grew up in a loving country home with four brothers and five sisters.
On April 2, 1948, Bonnie married Willie Thurman (Chic) Balch at the Methodist Church in Gatesville. They moved to Ft. Worth around 1949 where Gary Thurman and Connie Elaine were born and raised. After the untimely death of Chic in 1966, Bonnie married Raymond Barber in December, 1970. They were married 44 years.
After many years as a housewife, Bonnie worked in school cafeterias as a cook and manager for the Fort Worth and Crowley school districts. She was known throughout the years for her cooking skills, especially her delicious “sweets!”
Bonnie was a member of Englewood and Crowley United Methodist Churches, where she sang in the choirs and participated in United Methodist Women along with countless volunteer activities. Bonnie was a most kind and giving person, always quick to support family and help others in need. She loved her family dearly and played a big part in the young lives of her three grandchildren, Marcus, Garrett and Keli. She was a loving mother, wife, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend to so many.
Bonnie was preceded in death by: Husband, Willie Thurman (Chic) Balch; Husband, Raymond Earnest Barber; Sisters, Ina Chandler; Nelda Jo Miller, Loyce Barr, Winona Wenzel; Brother, Ivan Sadler
Survivors: Son, Gary (Mary); daughter Connie; grandchildren Marcus (Christie); Garrett (Constance); Keli (Brandon); great-grandchildren Witten, Kelsee, Brody, Andon and Braylee. Sister Betty Latham; brothers Sonny Sadler, Wallace Sadler and Jerry Sadler; and many other family members and friends.
