Brice was born in Sulphur Springs, Texas, to Brice Ury Sr. and Viola Hall Ury on February 23, 1944. He was educated in the Fort Worth Independent School District, attending Kirkpatrick Elementary, Junior High, and Senior High School. During his school years, Brice was a standout football and track athlete. He graduated in 1962.
Throughout his working years, Brice was employed by Lone Star Gas Company, now Atmos Energy, and Longhorn Dodge. He later worked for Meador Dodge, where he retired. Brice was also dedicated to serving his community. His outreach included catering for the YMCA, supporting the Boys & Girls Club and Toys for Tots, participating in Veterans Day and school activities, and taking part in various parades throughout the Metroplex.
Brice was a faithful member of the Worth Hills Church of Christ for more than 60 years. He remained present, willing, and ready to work wherever there was a task that needed to be done. His many years of faithful service reflected his commitment to Christ, his dedication to the church, and his desire to serve others.
On February 25, 1963, Brice married the love of his life, Evelyn Bell. To this union, their precious daughter, Donna, was born. Brice and Evelyn shared 63 years of marriage, building a life centered around family, faith, love, and service.
Brice's earthly journey has ended, but the life he lived and the love he shared will continue through his family. Left to cherish his memory are his loving and devoted wife, Evelyn; his daughter, Donna Young-Bob (Frederick); two grandchildren, Von Young Jr. (Moneak) and Veronica Johnson (DuJuan); five great-grandchildren, La'Derius, TreVon, Trishonna (Tra'Veon), JeVon, and Tianna; and three great-great-grandchildren, Aubrey, Autumn, and T.J who are the holders of his heart.
He also leaves to mourn his passing his sisters-in-love, Katherine Bell and Jackie Shears; brother-in-law, James Bell (Lola); and a host of relatives and friends.
A Wake will be held in the Laurel Room at Laurel Land Funeral Home of Fort Worth, 7100 Crowley Road, Fort Worth, TX 76134, on September 3, 2026, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
A Celebration of Life will take place at Laurel Land Funeral Home of Fort Worth, Laurel Room, 7100 Crowley Road, Fort Worth, TX 76134, on September 4, 2026, from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm. A Committal Service will follow at Laurel Land Memorial Park - FW, 7100 Crowley Road, Fort Worth, TX 76134, on September 4, 2026, from 3:00 pm to 3:30 pm.
