

Carl Otis Simon, Sr. was born in Palestine, Texas to the parentage of the late Sam Simon, Jr. and Carene Birdow Simon on November 14, 1952. He graduated from Palestine High School in 1971.
Carl worked for Ace Hardware and Motorola Corporation for several years. He began his training as a locksmith in 1985 while still fully employed. He loved being a locksmith and excelled into becoming a Master Locksmith. With this designation he acquired and maintained several corporate accounts in Dallas, Fort Worth, Waxahachie, and Ennis. The customers he served enjoyed the prompt and quality service he provided.
Carl regularly attended Locksmith Conventions to enhance his knowledge of the latest technology. He also held memberships in the International Locksmiths Association (ILA), Better Business Bureaus of Dallas and Fort Worth, Associated Locksmiths of America (ALOA) and the Texas Locksmiths Association(TLA).
Carl traveled extensively, not only domestically, but also internationally to China, Hong Kong, and Ukraine exploring their business practices, various cultures, and food. He had a vision to one day open a business in either Country.
Carl was a do-it-yourself person and would try to fix anything. He loved his children and grandchildren. He also loved the country atmosphere of his hometown of Palestine.
Carl believed strongly in God and attended Heavenly Gospel Church under the leadership of the late Pastor Floyd G. Taylor.
Carl was proceeded in death by his parents Sam Simon Jr. and Carene Simon; sister, Bessie Hamilton; and son, Carl Simon, Jr. Carl leaves to cherish his lasting memories: a daughter, Tamara Simon; and son, Zachary Simon; two sisters, Brenda Wilson, Beverly Asberry (Jimmy); and three brothers: Edward Charles Simon (Tichina), Kenneth Simon (Christine), and Anthony Simon. Grandchildren: Tavarus Thomas, Carlie Simon, Kaylin Rockwell-Simon, Carl Simon III, Charlie Simon
