Carol Swisher Cartwright

A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:30 pm on Friday, April 10, 2026, at The Arbor Room at Highland Springs, 8000 Frankford Road, Dallas, Texas 75252, with the Dr. Brandon Webb of Westbury Baptist Church, officiating.

Carol was born in Biloxi, Mississippi to Dr. Marion Swisher and Virginia Alford Swisher on October 19, 1948. She went to school in Middletown, Ohio. She married Joe Cartwright on July 9, 1977 in Middletown, Ohio. She graduated from Wilmington College in Ohio. She worked as a Geophysicist for Teledyne Exploration in Houston for 19 years. She was involved in Westbury Baptist Church in Houston, local Scouting activities, and activities supporting our local Pecan Grove Volunteer Fire Department.

Carol is preceded in death by her parents, Dr. Marion and Virginia Swisher.

Carol is survived by her husband, Joe, their son Christopher and his wife Dearlee, grandsons Matt, Sam, and Han; granddaughter Kyla, her sisters Anne Oakley, Kay McKnight, and Sally Swisher, and their husbands, children and grandchildren.

Memorials may be given to The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research.

The family of Carol Cartwright wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Dr.’s Nagaleela Chandra, Aparna Kotamarti, Kellie Kahveci, Patricia Dickson, and all the staff and nurses at the Highland Springs Medical Center, and the nurses and staff at Fountain View Continuing Care Center.
