Carolyn Ann (Brannen) Anderton 79, passed away peacefully in the arms of Jesus on May 11th, 2024 after a long battle with congestive heart failure. She was born to parents Joseph W. Brannen Jr and Betty (Wreay) Brannen on November 20th 1944.
She was known as Carolyn, Mom, Momma, Grand-Ma, Gigi or “Mudd” to her husband and to her family and friends.
She was a life long resident of Fort Worth. She was predeceased by her mother, father, one niece and two brother-in-laws who loved her dearly.
She loved sports and started bowling at age 15 and with dedication and determination she mastered the sport of bowling. She won many titles over the years and was highly recognized in the bowling world winning 18 SWMBA titles. She became a professional bowler and was inducted in the Fort Worth Hall of Fame in 1990. Then in 1992 she was inducted in the Texas Hall Of Fame. When she wasn't bowling she enjoyed crafts, sewing, cooking, bingo and playing slot machines. She also loved to fish with her husband, family and friends and just being outdoors on the lake.
Carolyn is survived by her husband of 52 years, Richard “Dickie” Anderton Jr., Son Larry “Buck” Cope Jr. (Debbie) Daughter Kimberly Holcomb (Randy), Her bonus son Richard “Trey” Anderton III, girlfriend Donna.
11 Grandchildren: Valerie Proulx (James), Jordan Flowers (Casey), Amanda Demalade (Cody), Chance Lassiter (Courtney), Jerry Gardner (Tracey), Kimberly McDermott (Brian), Cliff Gardner (Cindy), Jason Holcomb (Rachel), Lisa Brandon (Travis), Krista Clegg (Chase), and Nicole Sanders.
28 Great grandchildren and 2 great great grand-kids.
Sisters: Linda Smith (Bob), Pam Cox (Marshall) and sister Joy Hartwell,
Brother-in-law Bill Anderton (Nancy) Sister-in-law Marthetta Anderton, and numerous nieces and nephews along with many extended loved ones.
Carolyn would give the shirt off her back to help anyone in need. She was loved and cherished by so many and she will be deeply missed.
