It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Cassandra Lewis, who left us on January 14, 2026 at the age of 82. She was a beloved mother to daughter, Kimberly Keith and Son-in-Law, James Russell Keith and her presence will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Born on October 5, 1943 in Fort Worth, Tx, Cassandra Louise Lewis was the child of Vera Kathleen Wilson and Harold Wayne Davis. Throughout her life, Sandi was known for her steadfast determination to succeed. Whenever she could, ‘Sandi’ enjoyed using her creativity on toll painting, cross stitching, sewing, staining wood and other projects.
She devoted her time and energy to supporting her daughter in every aspect of her life. From Bluebirds and Brownies to Coaching Pee Wee Cheerleading and sewing uniforms in Lake Dallas, Texas to encouraging Kim’s dedication to all of her commitments. She believed that you “finish what you start, stand up for what you believe in and never give up.” She said, “if you put your mind do it, you can do anything,” “if you’re going to do something, do it right,” and “always do your best.” She taught these values to the other cheerleaders who still recall her determination to have her squad succeed and be the best, and they did and they were. They were not given another option.
She was honest, trustworthy and reliable. She raised her daughter on only her income twice in her lifetime. She always put her daughter first, making sure that Kim had everything she needed and more, even a car at 16 years of age. Kim’s friends recall how they looked up to Sandi as a role model for women who find themselves in trying situations. Her stamina, positivity and confidence were unmistakable. She demonstrated strength of character across the board and was a hard worker who never gave up.
She pursued and succeeded at a variety of careers. Early on, Kim remembers her working days at IC Deal apartment leasing where they actually gave her a car and nights at ‘The Sports Page’ in Dallas, owned by Mike Ditka and a couple of other Dallas Cowboys. She was gregarious and enjoyed people. She then became an Office Manager, a Construction Lender, a Realtor and finally, retired as a Co-op Teacher at Newman Smith High School. She loved her students and kept in touch with a handful of them.
Sandi is survived with deep sorrow by her Daughter and Son-in-Law, Kimberly and Russ Keith residing in Lewisville, Texas, her Granddaughter and Grandson-in-Law, Kristine and Michael Krick, residing in Saginaw, Texas and her Grandson and Granddaugher-in-Law, Russell and Joan Keith, residing in Wills Point, Texas; her cousins, Diana and Roger Sidebottom and Sue Davis residing in Granbury, Texas, Lori and Doug McDonald residing in Huntsville, Texas, Talitha Ayers and William Straub and daughters Winter and Talon all residing in Meridian, Oklahoma and Jeff Davis residing in Dallas, Texas; Gregg and Debbie Wilson residing in Austin, Texas and their children, Travis, Trent and Tessa; Maurice Wilson and wife, Cecilia and children Michael and Ashley.
