FORT WORTH -- Catalina H. Alvarado passed away peacefully with her family by her side Sunday, Dec. 30, 2012. She was 73 years old.
Celebration of life: Friends and family will celebrate Catalina's life with a memorial service at 2 p.m. Saturday at Shannon Rose Hill Funeral Chapel. Friends are encouraged to wear Texas Rangers apparel for the service. Interment: Catalina will be taken home to Colorado, where she will be laid to rest next to her loving parents in Sunset Memorial Gardens in Greeley, Colo.
Catalina H. Alvarado was born to Justo Hernandez and Eleanor Sanchez on March 22, 1939. She was married and had three children. Several years later, she moved to Fort Worth where she had lived for the last 30 years. She was self-employed and was loved by so many. Of all her wonderful achievements, she was most proud of her children and grandchildren and was a huge Texas Rangers Fan. "Go Rangers!"
Survivors: Her sons, Johnny Martinez and James David Martinez; daughter, Bernice Martinez-Shrader, all of Denver, Colo.; and many family members in Texas, California and Colorado.
