Born on Valentine’s Day in 1935 in Nashville, Tennessee, Gene lived a life defined by two unwavering principles: a deep devotion to family and an unshakable work ethic. Gene was married for 47 years to the love of his life, Pat, who preceded him in death. Their marriage was a shining example of love, faith, and
commitment. Together, they built a life centered on family, and Gene continued to honor her memory every day after her passing.
Throughout a remarkable career that took him across California, Arizona, Tennessee, and ultimately to Fort Worth, Texas, Gene embodied the spirit of perseverance and integrity. Starting as a traveling tire salesman, he then took a job with World Service Life Insurance and after rising through the ranks he became Vice President. Later, he founded Eatherly Insurance & Investments, where he poured his heart
and soul into serving clients and building a legacy of trust. He approached everything in life with 110% effort.
Gene was also a dedicated member of Southcliff Church for over 50 years, where he served faithfully as a deacon & Sunday school teacher. His deep faith was evident in both his words and actions. When he wasn’t working or serving others, Gene found his greatest joy in spending time with his family—water skiing on the lake by day, and ballroom dancing with Pat by night. His life was full of laughter, love, and purpose.
He will be remembered for his welcoming smile, firm handshake, and strong and sometimes opinionated spirit. Gene’s legacy lives on in the lives he touched and the values he lived by. He now joins his beloved Pat in eternity, where surely, they are dancing together once more.
He is survived by his three beloved daughters, who were his true pride and joy: Dawn Eatherly (Trionne Barnett) of Greenville, SC; Paige Killian (Kendall) of Fort Worth, TX; and Tricia Davis (Gideon) of Ventura, CA. Gene also leaves behind four treasured grandchildren—Morgan, Truett, Levi, and Ezra, as well as his sister, Kathie Krejci of Idaho.
