

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Charles William Freeman, who left this world on February 15th at the age of 96. Charlie was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and friend.
Born on November 23, 1929 in Troy, Alabama to Otis and Julia Freeman. Throughout his life Charlie faithfully attended church and desired for others to know the love of Jesus. For a short time he pastored Rock Creek Baptist Church in Crowley, which he helped to found. He was a proud veteran who served in the United States Army for 9 years. Charlie was the last remaining member of his group sent to Korea. Once out of the army, Charlie worked as an ironworker and eventually started a steel business. Later, he fulfilled his dream of becoming a fishing guide on Lake Texoma. He loved working with his hands and built several of the houses he and his family lived in through the years. In Charlie's spare time he pursued his passion of gardening.
Charlie is survived by his sons Bill Freeman and Wife Dana, David Freeman and wife Donna, Richard Freeman and wife Dallas, seven grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, his sisters Judy Mock and Patsy Freeman and many more family and friends.
Charlie was preceded in death by his parents Otis and Julia Freeman, his wife of 71 years Clara Freeman, four brothers and three sisters.
The family appreciates the outpouring of love, prayers and support during this time.
A funeral service will be held at Laurel Land Funeral Home of Fort Worth, located at 7100 Crowley Rd, Fort Worth, TX 76134, on February 28, 2026, starting at 9:00 am. Following the service, a burial will take place at Laurel Land Memorial Park, also located at 7100 Crowley Rd, Fort Worth, TX 76134, at 11:00 am.
