Charles was born the youngest of 6 children to Ray and Gertrude Walters May 15th, 1933, and was a long time resident of North Adams, Michigan. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. His bright red hair earned him the nickname “Red” which stuck with him until 1971 when, because of his increasing dislike of winter, he moved his family to Arizona where he came to be known as ‘Chuck‘.
While proudly serving in the U.S. Army, Charles acquired skills leading to a career in auto mechanics, retiring as fleet maintenance superintendent for Rainbo Baking Company in El Paso. After retirement he and his second wife, Peggy, enjoyed producing custom wood products and traveling, visiting 48 states. As their travels became more local, Chuck and Peggy enjoyed frequent trips to the casino’s.
Charles is preceded in death by his mother and father; Rose, wife of 25 years and mother of his children; brothers Donald and Herman; sisters Audrey, Martha, and Florence; daughter-in-law, Kimberly Walters.
