MR. CHARLIE JONES, JR. was born December 10, 1941, in Karnack, Texas to the parents of Charlie Jones, Sr. and Rebecca Grant Jones. He attended George Washington Carver High School in Karnack, Texas. Charlie moved to Fort Worth in 1963. He would marry Beverly Dixson they were married for 20 years. They would have 4 children. He joined St. Matthew Baptist Church in 1965 under the Leadership of the late Rev. Jones and later under the Leadership of the late Rev. T. W. Pope. He served on the Brotherhood and sang in the Male Chorus. He would later attend Holy Tabernacle COGIC until the felling of his health. Charlie worked construction with his brother James Lewis from 1963-1965. Charlie would go on to start Jones Construction from: 1966-1973. After Jones Constriction he would work for Lennox International from 1973-1985. Charlie would go on to work for FWISD from 9-6-1988-11-28-2002 where he retired.
Charlie loved old cars and trucks. He was the mechanic to call on. Charlie was also a great handyman, could fix just about anything you could think of.
Charlie Jones, JR. was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie, Sr. and Rebecca Grant Jones; son, Charlie Jones, III; brother, James Lewis Jones; sister, Velma Jean Jones.
He leaves to cherish his memories his children; Winifred Jones, Lorie Nealy- Bowers (King), Yvette (Becky) Jones Gates (Rickey) and Shelia Howell; 13 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren; brother & sisters, Charlie Marie Thompson, Katie Hubbard (R.V.), Dorothy Jones, Wesley Jones (Brenda), Velma D. Siler and husband, Jimmy Jones, Curtis Jones, Tony Jones and wife and Walter Hicks and wife; and a host of other beloved relatives and friends.
