It was a sunny day on May 20, 1930, in Fort Worth, Tx. , when a sweet baby boy arrived being born to the parentage of Zelma L. Martin, and Clifford Brown Sr, and they named him Clifford Brown Jr. Clifford attended school as a young child in Fort Worth as well. Clifford was a friend to many. His most enjoyable times were when he was around his family, talking about family history or his caddying days when he was young, especially being around some of the great golfers of his time such as Jack Nicholson. Some of those long-term relationships remained. They celebrated with him, his family, and friends every year on his birthday at Risky’s Barbecue in (downtown) Fort Worth, which made him genuinely happy. He didn’t say it, but his smile and laugh said it all. Thank you family, and friends!
Nicole Hibbert, a special friend asked Clifford one day, “what is the secret to a long life?” With his great big smile and a chuckle, he responded “be kind, be nice, and love GOD.” That was exactly the Uncle Clifford we knew, and those that knew him will say that he was always that person. After a brief illness, Clifford succumbed to his illness and quietly took his rest on September 2, 2024. His smile, his laughter, and his story telling will surely be missed.
Clifford is preceded in death by his mother, Zelma L. (Martin) Bradden, father, Clifford Brown Sr., brother, Herman Burns, sister Betty J. (Brown) Powell, brother, Henry L. Bradden, brother, Hulen Allen, and brother, Frankie D. Brown.
