She was born in Jacksboro, TX on March 29, 1926 to Fayne Monroe Bilbary and Cora Slaton Anderson.
Chris was married in 1943 at the Historic Parker County Courthouse in Weatherford, TX to the love of her life, Samuel Joseph Minor, Sr. (Joe). Ahead of her time and a force to be reckoned with, Chris graduated from TCU in 1969 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Education and she did so while raising 5 children. Chris was employed by the Fort Worth ISD in the Special Education Department until her retirement in 1994.
Affectionately called Mimi by her family, she enjoyed family gatherings and outings, often commenting on how her favorite get together involved having all her “chicks” around her. She loved her doggie companion Sofee, who was constantly at her side. Always putting everyone’s needs before her own, Chris was everything and radiated love to every one she encountered during her life. Known for her big hugs accompanied by the phrase “Hello, little one!,” she will be dearly missed by all.
Chris is preceded in death by her infant son, Daniel Paul Minor; husband, Samuel Joseph Minor, Sr.; sister, Darlene Wyatt; parents, Fayne Bilbary and Cora Anderson; son-in-law, James Booth.
She was survived by three sons, Joe Minor, Jr. (Julie), Larry Minor (Lisa), and Jeff Minor; two daughters, Pam Fielden (David) and Terri Booth (widow of James); brother, Don Bilbary (Caroline); many grandchildren and great grandchildren, and other extended family.
