Curtis Lee Johnson was born September 26, 1941 to J.B. Johnson and Mildred Cooper Johnson. Curtis matriculated through the Dallas Independent School District and graduated from Booker T. Washington High School.
He made an honorable decision to serve this country and enlisted in the United States Navy on December 27, 1960. He was a rigger at the San Antonio Naval Yard and also served in the Vietnam War. After he was discharged, he worked as a custodian for Mansfield Independent School District where he retired.
Curtis met the love of his life, Betty, and they joined in Holy Matrimony on July 3, 1964. To this union, two sons were born. Curtis was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church in Mansfield, TX and was faithful until his health declined. He was joyfully active in the music ministry and his favorite Bible passage was the 23rd Number of Psalms.
Curtis is preceded in death by his parents, J.B. and Mildred Johnson; and his bride, Betty Johnson.
He leaves to cherish his memories sons, Ronald and Kevin; grandchildren, great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
