What can I say about Scott, he married my sister Sue, I have a wonderful niece Heather and a wonderful nephew Seth, from the both of them, and even when they were no longer together, I always thought of Scott as my brother-in-law! He is/was the kindest man, always,  always, had a smile, and never said a bad,  negative word to me or anyone that I know, regardless of what was going on in his life! He was definitely a good father, grandfather and exceptional role model for all! He will truly be missed! I am so sorry Scott, that I didn't make time to come visit,  please say "Hi " to my dad.  How nice to know that you were so loved!⚘

The loss of Curtis Scott Moore has a heavy impact on his family and for so many friends. Scotty was a great cousin to me. Didn't get see him much as time and geography tends to get in the way. He kept telling me to come out and learn to jump and I kept promising him I would, but his time here with us was cut short... too short for someone so loved and who loved  life and lived it as he did. He was happiest with his head deep under water or way up in the clouds. Always reaching for the next goal... maybe his big brother Robert is who started Scotty on his tenacious quest for adventure while teaching him to walk as a baby.... in that moment when Scotty literally took off running after the first couple steps. The way he lived was inspiring to those around him... I wish I could have spent more tine with him. 

Scotty was one of the first people I met after moving to Fort Worth in 1981.  He had a drop zone at Decatur airport and we hit it off right away.  Got to know him better when Skydive Texas was up and running.  Last saw him a couple of years ago, when I stopped by Rhome Meadows in my biplane and we had a nice visit.  Scotty always had a big smile and whether it had been a week or a year since you'd seen him, you knew you were with a friend.  Gonna miss him, Blue Skies, Scotty!  My thoughts and prayers go out to your family and friends.

Rest in Peace Scott..…………….will miss seeing you at the hangar.  We know how much you loved your Family and THEY along with all of your many many friends will miss you !   Fly High Scotty !

Just before launching to Oskosh Airventure 2018 I stopped by for a quick dip and a cold beer after a hot day at the hangar. Next thing I knew Scotty brought out a scuba tank, mask , and flippers. I spent the next hour hanging at the bottom of the pool, it was my first time “diving”.  Scotty was always glad to see you and loved to hear about what was going on in your life. We all will miss this special man.

You guys did know I meant BEER, not Bear in my previous post! :)


I've known Scotty for around 35+ years. We shared a strong anti-establishment worldview, a love of anything in the sky, an appreciation of beautiful women and an occasional sip of bear. He was a brother in arms and a friend in need. The world lost a good guy, a great co-conspirator and a friend of mine. My heart goes out to his family who he cherished.  It was never dull brother.......

It has been many years since I have seen or spoken with Scotty but I will remember and love him always.  I met him through my dad, Sam Haley.  When my dad started jumping at Skydive Texas and this bratty little kid would tag along Scotty was always there along with several others to make sure I was taken care of.  He helped give me one of the best memories I have, my first tandem 8-way,  and I think he was just as excited and proud as my own father was.   Scotty was always so kind to me and always had that great smile of his on his face.  Even though we had lost touch over the years he will be missed.  

I met him at Fort Worth Center and got to know him beyond ATC. I went flying with him at Decatur once or twice. Heck of a ride from one heck of a guy. He was smart and had a great sense of humor. An all-round great guy. 

One of my favorite memories of Scotty, I think of this almost every time I remember him...
I was training on the R-side, & had on one of my favorite shirts: it was light purple and had darker purple patterns on it.  The main body had one pattern, the sleeves another pattern, the pocket yet another, etc.  He walked up behind me & said,

"Keep at this, Mason, and one day you'll be able to afford a shirt made out of the same piece of material."

I guess you had to be there, but I grin every every time I think of it.  While we lost touch since he retired, I really enjoyed working with him.
Prayers for all of you who miss him.

Scott and I met in the late 70's and became brothers from the start.  We became jump masters and instructors together,  bought airplanes and created a drop zone.  Many, many nights we slept on the ground around a campfire  hoping someone would show to make a load. I was fortunate to know him in great detail and love him as a brother. Scott was original.  He was to be respected for his creativity and his free will. I learned a great deal from this wonderful man. The years and miles may have separated us,  but every time we met it was like yesterday!  I feel part of me left with him that day. My condolences to the family, and blue skies to my brother.

My friend since high school, Scotty was my best friends brother who shared so many memories with us. I never had the opportunity to sky dive with him but I know several who did. Always adventurous and forever the adrenaline junky, you will be sorely missed. Blue skies forever my friend 💕

I have only known Scott and Ben for a few years, but in that time I have really enjoyed being around both of them! So sorry for your recent losses Ben -- and especially the loss of Scott. Scott and I are about the same age and have almost identical views on just about everything you can imagine -- it was alway a lot of fun to sit and talk with Scott about skydiving history, scuba diving, politics, USPA stuff, etc. Ben, to you and Scott: Thank you both so much for some very nice memories of the jumps and times I have had with you both at your DZ.   You are in my thoughts and prayers right now.

Words really cannot describe this man.  He was a great friend that I had the privilege of knowing since 1982.  A fellow skydiver and an awesome friend!  Ben, I LOVE you so much and can only imagine this loss you are feeling, just know we are always and forever friends and family!  Until we meet again Scotty!  Blue skies forever!  😞

Scott taught the whole family how to jump out of an airplane and to dive beneath the waves.  Laura, Brooke, Michael and I will always remember the good times we had with this kind, fun loving man that had a fantastic gentle manner with instruction.  

Hey Buddy, you are finally in blue skies. Say hi to Dad, Jayden, David and George. So happy for being able to be best buddies again, so sorry we couldn't enjoy our friendship and families together till our 80's or later. You are and will always be missed. You are the bomb and we all love you bunches.
