
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Dale Hobbs, who left us on February 17, 2026 at the age of 90. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather and his presence will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Born on May 7, 1935 and raised in Salmon, Idaho, Dale was the child of Glenn and Alice Hobbs. Dale graduated from Idaho State University with a degree in Mathematics and Kinesiology in 1959. He was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the United States Army in September of 1959. He served for 28 years retiring at the rank of Colonel in September 1987. Following his distinguished military career he taught math at Robert G. Cole High School for 12 years at Fort Sam Houston, San Antonio, Texas. Throughout his life he was an avid fan of all athletics.
Dale is survived by his wife of 72 years Ginger, his daughters Camille Olmstead (John), Shelly Hobbs, Janet German (John), his son Charles (Patience), 14 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and many more family and friends.
Dale was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, a brother, and his daughter Nancy Braford.
The family deeply appreciates the outpouring of love, prayers, and support during this difficult time. Dale’s legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
