Dana was lay to rest early morning of Tuesday, October 2, 2023.
Dana was born February 22, 1940 in Fort Worth and grew up in humble circumstances which taught her the value of hard work. At 16 she began her career for the State of Texas Welfare Office, from which she would retire at 64.
A proud Texan, Dana personified Southern hospitality: warm and generous with the kind of mischievous streak for which southern women are famous. She never met a stranger and always had either a joke or a sympathetic ear for anyone who needed it.
Dana is survived by her best friend Elaine Paffhausen.
In lieu of flowers, to which she was violently allergic, Dana requested that memorials be made to St. Patrick Cathedral, where she, a devout Catholic, was a member.
