Daniel Lynn Wyatt, age 71, peacefully passed away on January 24, 2021 in Fort Worth, Texas. Born to Obie and Louise Wyatt in DeRidder, Louisiana on August 30, 1949, he went on to accomplish many great things.
Attended faithfully Friendship Baptist Church where he was baptized by Brother Day. He played football in high school. He graduated from DeRidder High School 1967. He graduated with BA in Accounting from McNeese State University in Lake Charles, Louisiana.
In his mid twenties, while working as an Accountant in Houston, Texas, Daniel met the woman who would become the “Love of His Life,” Peggy Thompson. He always thanked his lucky stars for the 6 months working at Sperry-Sun that brought Peggy into his life. Together they lived in Quail Valley Golf Course Community and had a wonderful life enjoyed their home and family. Dan worked for 15 years for Sonat Offshore Drilling as an Account Manager. They moved to Fort Worth in 1985 where they owned and operated two Meineke Car Care Centers. During his free time he enjoyed spending time on the lake fishing as well as played many rounds of golf with his friends. He attended Bible Study Fellowship studying God Word for many years. But nothing brought him more joy than spending time with his family and those he loved. He especially loved their many friends and family at Travis Avenue Baptist Church for 17 years. They spent the last 16 years attending Christ Chapel Bible Church. They spent many nights with sweet Christian friends playing Canasta.
Daniel is preceded in death by his parents, brother Kevin Wyatt and sister Judy Wyatt.
Daniel is survived by his wife of 46 years, Peggy Wyatt. Daughter Wendy Koenig and Son-in-law John Koenig of Boerne, Texas, and Daughter Shelia Nichols and Son-in-law Dale Nichols of Pensacola, Florida; Grandchildren Zac Koenig, Hunt Texas, Anna Hudnall of Amarillo, Texas, Amy Koenig, Adeline Koenig, Abigail Koenig, Sam Koenig of Boerne, Texas, and Alexis Brown, Blake Brown and Elliott Brown all from Pensacola, Florida; Great Grand children, Noah Hudnall, Abel Hudnall and Leah Hudnall all from Amarillo, Texas; Sisters – Shirley Bliss of Bentonville Arkansas, Jolene Cooley and Brother-in-Law O.J. Cooley, Jr. of DeRidder, Louisiana.
Daniel was loved by and will be greatly remember by many nephews and nieces.
The graveside service will be held on Monday, February 1, 2021, at 2 PM at Morton Cemetery in Richmond, Texas.
