

Memorial service: 2 p.m. Thursday at Shannon Rufe Snow Funeral Chapel. Inurnment at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery will take place at a later date.
Born to Robert Kazen and Shirley Jean Salmirs on Jan. 12, 1946, Darryl began his amazing life in San Francisco, Calif. He grew up with his sister, Janis Kast, in San Jose.
Darryl served in the Marines for two years and the Air Force for 22 years. During that time, he met the love of his life, Adriana Margarita Guerra, and married her in Laredo on Nov. 22. During his military career, he traveled the world with his wife and sons.
He attended TCU where he gained a bachelor's degree in English. From there, he obtained his real estate broker's license and opened his own business, 1st Choice Property Management. Many would say he is well acclaimed in his field of work, and that he has spread his wisdom for the better.
Darryl and Adriana loved to leave and take off to travel the U.S. on their motorcycle or in their RV. His favorite place in the world was Colorado, and they would travel there as often as they could. At the end of this year, Darryl had plans to fully retire and travel with Adriana. Traveling was Darryl's passion.
Darryl Lee Kazen was a kind, loving man, but was always able to live up to his nickname "Grumpy" if the mood struck him. Grumpy will be profoundly missed and loved.
Survivors: Darryl is survived by his wife, Adriana, of 45 years; his sons with wives, Paul Kazen, Sam and Robin Kazen, Robert and Leslie Kazen; his sister, Janis; his five grandchildren; niece; nephew; relatives; and many, many friends.
