David was born Sept 30th, 1949 in Lansing, Michigan to John and Grace Perry. He and his 7 siblings were raised in a Christian home where they were taught to love the Lord and work hard. David had several careers including serving in the US Air Force as a pilot. His biggest career legacy was as an educator. He spent most of his years with Crowley ISD as a science teacher and a few of his retirement years teaching science at Southwest Christian School. Countless students have shared that he showed them that learning was fun and helped them fall in love with science.
David loved Jesus, loved people, and was active in his church body. He loved making people smile by telling stories and his infamous jokes. David never met a stranger and often offered to pray for people he just met.
He also had a passion for creating things. He painted, built rockets, designed and built a playhouse for his grandchildren, and his largest creation was his Veri EZ plane.
Those left to his memory are his wife of 45 years, Margaret Perry, daughters, Kim Tubig, Jennifer Wade, stepchildren, Margaret Reyes, Julian Reyes, and his siblings, Duane Perry, Loren Perry, Leora O’Conner, Joyce Perry, Margie Brown, Dan Perry, and Steven Perry.
