It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of David Wester, who left us on Saturday August 29th,2026 at the age of 86. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend, and his presence will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Born on July 29th,1940 in Weatherford, Texas David Leon Wester was the child of Delmar David Wester and Pearl Elizabeth (House) Wester. Throughout his life, David was known for being extremely friendly, generous and loving his family above all else. David was a passionate square dancer, serving many roles in the Ft. Worth Square Dance community. He devoted his time and energy to coordinating and organizing holiday toy drives for children in need during his time as an employee at General Motors. David served honorably in the US Navy.
David is survived with deep sorrow by his wife Sylvia; his son Del Wester; his grandchildren Brittany Travis, James Wester, and Elizabeth Wester; great-grandchildren Wyatt Travis and McKenzie Travis; grand-son-in-law Jason Travis; sister-in-law Loreta Wester; Morris , his beloved orange cat; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
David was preceded in death by his parents, his son David Layne Wester, daughter Wendi Prentice, brother Bob Wester and nephew Tony Wester.
The family invites relatives and friends to a visitation at Laurel Land Ft. Worth Tuesday September 8th 6-8 p.m.
Celebration of Life service on Wednesday September 9th @10:30 a.m., to be held at St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church 5709 Wedgwood Drive Ft. Worth, TX 76133.
Burial will be at Laurel Land Ft. Worth cemetery at 3:00 p.m. September 9th. The family deeply appreciates the outpouring of love, prayers, and support during this difficult time. David’s legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
