Dawanna Kaye Vera

March 1, 1957 – January 4, 2026
Obituary of Dawanna Kaye Vera
IN THE CARE OF

Laurel Land – Rose Hill Memorial Park and Funeral Home

Dawanna Kaye Vera, 68, of Arlington, Texas, passed away peacefully on the morning of January 4th, 2026.

Born March 1st, 1957 in Fort Worth, Texas, she was the second of four children—the only daughter of Edward and Mary Parker.

Dawanna graduated from Paschal High School in 1975 and continued her education at The University of Texas at Arlington, where she graduated in 1980 with a BA in Architecture, with a focus in Interior Design.

While attending UTA, Dawanna met and married Anthony Ramirez Vera on September 9th, 1978 in San Antonio, Texas. For 39 years, Dawanna and Anthony raised 3 children, designed and built beautiful homes, battled in the construction industry, and danced their hearts out at innumerable parties. She is now reunited with him in the Kingdom of God.

Dawanna was a blessing to everyone who knew her. Her love and kindness were a testament to her faith in Christ, and her children are a reflection of her selflessness. She enjoyed art, architecture, music, and movies, and she had a soft spot for Spanish styles in each one. She gave of herself, even when she was exhausted. Now, she is at peace.

She is survived by her 3 children and their families, Aubra Bulin, Anthony James Vera, and Alyssa Martinez and her brother Keith Parker.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Anthony Ramirez Vera; her brothers, Kyle Parker and Joel Vincent Parker; and her parents, Edward and Mary Parker.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Dawanna’s memory may be directed to Metroplex Women’s Clinic in North Texas.
