Dena R Panagopoulos

Services: The family request your presence at the Funeral Service on Thursday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church 2020 N.W 21st Street Fort Worth, Texas 76164. The family will receive friends from 6-7 p.m. Wednesday evening at Shannon Rufe Snow Drive Funeral Chapel with the Trisagion Service starting at 7:00 p.m. Dena will be laid to rest following the funeral service, in Mount Olivet Cemetery.

Pallbearers: Tommy Panagopoulos, George Panagopoulos, Dino Sparto, Andy Katzianis, Dean Garefos, and Dean Papaliodis.

Dena was born to Vasilios and Marina Colovos Rokas November 18, 1931. She was the rock in a large family that emigrated from Greece in pursuit of the American dream. Always at her husband's side, Dena worked to make her family members comfortable as they arrived from Greece. A devoted member of St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church, she could always be found in the kitchen, side by side with the other ladies of the church preparing for the Annual Greek Food Festival. She will be missed by all those who knew her.

Survived by her devoted husband of 56 years, Anastasios, children Marina Katzianis and her husband Constantinos, son Dean Panagopoulos and his wife Christine. Her granddaughters meant the world to her and each has special memories of their Yiayia. Despina Goudey and her husband James, Tasoula Katzianis and Katherine Panagopoulos. Dena will be missed by her brothers Nick Rokas and wife Lia, Peter Rokkas and wife Barbara, as well as sisters Eleni and Maria. She also leaves behind her brother in law Athanasios Panagopoulos and his wife Anna and sister in law Coula Panagopoulos.

Our family would like to thank all of those who were devoted to her care from Accolade Hospice, especially Phil Heiger, Sandy Matthews, and Nancy Espinosa. We would also like to thank her best friend, Bessie Sparto, for her unwavering care of our Mom.

Those wishing to make a memorial donation may do so in Dena's name to the St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church Building Fund.
