She was born on January 24, 1935 in Muscogee, Oklahoma. She graduated from the University of Tulsa in 1956 with a degree in Journalism. While there, she served as the President, Pledge Director and Membership Chair of the Phi Mu sorority. She also attended Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary where she studied religious education.
Deonne spent the majority of her adult life in Fort Worth serving Christ through organizations including All Church Press, Lake Country Christian School, International Evangelism Association and Student Discipleship Ministries.
She and her husband were active in James Avenue Baptist Church, Travis Avenue Baptist Church and Hope Church. Upon retirement, they served as missionaries with the European Baptist Convention, International Mission Board SBC and in New England.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Ernie Beshear. She is survived by three children and their spouses, Susan and Jim Tidwell of Houston, Cindy and Todd Parker of Houston, David and Elizabeth Beshear of Dallas, eight grandchildren, one great granddaughter; and her sister, Dr. Kathryn Pifer.
