Ma, Mama, Diva D, Mama D, or just Diane, you were an exceptional mother, friend, and whatever else was needed at the time. You are the epitome of motherhood royalty and your love will always reign down on anyone you took under your wing. Diane had the warmest heart, sweetest smile, and a light to all that knew her.
Diane, was born in Augusta, Ga to the late James Pugh and surviving Helen White. Diane was a proud Lucy C. Laney Wildcats graduate and a very popular student and majorette, and would dance the night away with her classmates at every function since her graduating class of 1967. She also attended Paine College in Augusta, Ga. Diane moved to Fort Worth, Texas in 1989.
Diane has worked in the hospital industry for 40 plus years as a surgery scheduling coordinator. Faithfully employed as the Scheduling Team Lead at JPS hospital since 1998, and also has a supporting work family from St. Joseph Hospital (FW), and Medical Plaza Center (FW). Her host of coworkers, friends, and doctors have always showered her with love.
Diane was a magnificent southern chef, and also liked to bake. A professional shopper and the most stylish Granna one would ever meet. In true Leo fashion, she would never disappoint. She’s a classic diva and world class woman. One aspires to be as gracious. Dancing was one of her favorite pastimes and she was the life of the party. Her sense of humor was another plus in her multifaceted personality. She loved watching the same silly movies as if it was the first time and couldn’t get enough of The Big Bang Theory and Reba. Her sweet, fiery, feisty, and soothing nature will be missed.
Diane was selfless. She was everything to everybody without any expectations. She gave unconditional love and great advice. Through her actions and service to others, she taught the importance of self care and self love and we will forever be grateful for those lessons. She is at ultimate peace now and it can finally be all about her. Our earth angel finally gained her wings.
Diane married her other half, the late Miguel Banta M.D.,12-15-2000 and they reunited as one 12-15-2020. What a beautiful love story. We are comforted in knowing she's in her loving husband’s arms resting in power and peace. Diane is survived by her son Rodney Clark (Atlanta, Ga), LaRonda Gholston (FW), Kimberle Wilson (bonded bonus son Marvin Wilson) (Humble, TX). Diane was gifted loving bonus daughters Sonya Granger, (Atlanta, Ga) and Alyssa Banta. A very attentive and bonded bonus son Trevor Gholston (FW), loving bonus sons David Banta (FW) and Patrick Banta (FW).
Grandchildren, Brianna Gholston, Sydney Gholston, Chandler Clark, Maison Wilson, and Alyssa Banta. Siblings Cheryl White and Bennie White (GA), a supporting sister gained through a previous marriage Karen Frazier (Atlanta, GA), nieces and nephews, friends that turned into family, and coworkers who showed up as family.
