Dianne Carroll was born on December 27, 1938, in Trinity, Texas, to Clyde and Mae Delle (Walling) Johnson of Handley, Texas. She was the beloved sister of Garland, Don (her twin brother) and Judy, and the dedicated wife of Wayne Carroll. Dianne passed away peacefully at home on June 1, 2026.
Dianne was a loving daughter and sister who helped care for her siblings after the loss of their father early in life. At the age of 17, she met Wayne at her older brother Garland’s softball game, where Wayne was the team’s pitcher. It was love at first sight – sort of. Their chance meeting soon blossomed into a lifelong love story, and they were married in Handley, Texas on June 14, 1957, Wayne’s 21st birthday.
Together, Dianne and Wayne built a life centered on faith, service, and family as they welcomed their son Bryan and later their daughter Kelley. In the late 1960s, they took in four nieces and nephews to raise with their family.
Life’s journey took Dianne to many places across the country and around the world. From Massachusetts to California to New Orleans and China, she left a lasting impression on every community she joined and often spoke fondly of the friendships and lessons she gained along the way. Whether sharing a cup of tea, creating something beautiful with her artistic talents, or enjoying a spirited card game, Dianne brought joy everywhere she went.
Above all, Dianne will be remembered for her unwavering faith in the Lord, her enduring love for Wayne, and the delight she took in her grandchildren. Dianne’s legacy of faith, love, and service will continue to live on in all who were blessed to know her.
Dianne will be greatly missed by her church family at The Hills church, where she and Wayne have worshipped for many years, by the members of Burlington church of Christ in Burlington, Massachusetts, which she and Wayne helped establish in the 1960s, and by the many faith communities she has touched throughout her life.
Dianne is survived by her devoted husband of nearly 70 years, Wayne Carroll, her children, Bryan (Rebecca) Carroll and Kelley (Chris) Martin, her grandchildren, Matthew, Kayla and Emma Cate, her great-grandchildren, Daniel, Hannah, Lauren and Chloe, and her sister Judy (Ron) Parish.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 5, 2026 at The Hills Church in North Richland Hills, Texas.
