

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. on Friday, at Shannon Rose Hill Funeral Chapel. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, at Shannon Rose Hill Funeral Chapel. Honorary pallbearers will be Scott McCall, Mike Finn, Bill Reisch, Jim Reisch, and Frank Kearns.
Don was born on April 2, 1944, to Neita and William Mack McCall. He was a Fort Worth native and lived in Tarrant County his entire life. He graduated from Polytechnic High School and attended Texas Wesleyan University. He was a talented and accomplished salesman and manager who worked at all of the Dallas/Fort Worth newspapers including the Fort Worth Press, Fort Worth Star-Telegram, Dallas Times Herald, and Dallas Morning News.
In 1985, he married Mary Colette Reisch, his wife of 30 years.
After three decades of working in media, in 1989, Don established McCall & Associates, a commercial printing and promotional items company. In addition to running a successful small business, under Don's ownership, McCall & Associates was one of the charter members of River Legacy nature center in Arlington, which opened as a public park in 1990. He retired in 2011.
Don was a servant leader, always eager to lend a hand. He was an active member of the Arlington Noon Optimist Club for more than 25 years, and served as Lieutenant Governor of the club. He especially enjoyed working with youth during the annual Classic Basketball Tournament fundraiser. Along with Mary Colette, Don was also active in Big Brothers Big Sisters for more than 10 years.
Don was a sports enthusiast. He loved playing and watching baseball, basketball, tennis, and golf. For years, he participated in quarter-mile drag racing (including Green Valley Raceway). One of his favorite pastimes was fishing, and he enjoyed several deep-sea excursions.
Together, Don and Mary Colette loved to travel domestically and throughout the world including trips to Cabo San Lucas, Hawaii, and China.
Don is preceded in death by his mother and father, and his brother, Dale.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Colette of Haltom City; son, Scott McCall, of Euless; daughter, Janice McCall, of Fort Worth; granddaughter, Madison McCall, of Mesquite; brothers and sisters-in-law: Norm and Pat Reisch, Colorado; Jim and Sandy Reisch, Dallas; Bill and Betty Reisch, Bedford; Donna Trujillo, Fort Worth; Frank and Annette Kearns, Bedford; three cousins, and 12 nieces & nephews.
