

He was a loving and caring husband, father, father-in-law, and grandfather. His presence will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Born on November 16, 1947 in Iowa Falls, Iowa, Don was the child of John W. Brass and Myrtle L. Branning. He honorably served his country in the United States Air Force for 20 years. He achieved the rank of Senior Master Sergeant. After he retired from the Air Force, he owned his own business as a cabinet maker. Don loved gardening, canning, barbecuing and trying new recipes with his wife Lynette.
Don is survived with deep sorrow by his wife of 45 years, Lynette Brass, his daughter, Jaclyn Channell, her husband Clif Channell, and his granddaughters Lyndee Rose Channell and Reagan Von Channell. He is also survived by his sister Mary Bjornson, sisters-in-law Brenda Nerpel, and Gabi George, brothers-in-law John George, Richard George, Keith George and numerous nieces and nephews. He is also survived by special friends (and co-grandparents) Ben and Candy Channell, and special friends Brett and Jenny Woods.
Don was preceded in death by his father and mother, as well as his brothers Jack Brass and William James Brass.
The family invites relatives and friends to a celebration of Don’s life on June 19 at 9:30 am, to be held at The Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Pkwy, Dallas TX. Please arrive at least 15 minutes prior to the service. A reception will follow at the Brass home.
The family deeply appreciates the outpouring of love, prayers, and support during this difficult time. Don’s legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
