Donald James (Pitt) Pittenger Jr., 49, passed peacefully on September 30, 2011, in Roanoke Texas. Service: October 5, 2011, 11 am at Shannon Funeral Chapel, 6001 Rufe Snow Drive, Fort Worth TX 76148. Burial: Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas, TX 75211. Visitation: 6-8 pm, October 4, 2011, from at Shannon Funeral Chapel, 6001 Rufe Snow Drive, Fort Worth TX 76148.

Don lived in Roanoke since he retired from the United States Air Force on April 1, 2001. Don was born on June 7, 1962, in Wilson Borough Pennsylvania to Sheila and Donald Pittenger Sr. MSgt (Ret) Donald Pittenger proudly served 21-years in the United States Air Force from September 1980 - April 1, 2001. Upon retirement, he obtained a bachelor degree as an Occupational Training Engineer. He worked at New Breed Logistics Inc from 2001-2011. Donald loved his country, family, friends, and co-workers. Hobbies were camping, fishing, riding his motorcycle, and spending time with his “girls.”

Survivors: his wife Leona, his daughters Desirae and Madison, his granddaughter Marley, stepsons Shawn Cummings, Tommy Cummings and his wife Marjorie Cummings and Michael Cummings, step grandchildren Timmy, Anastasia, John Wayne, Daisy Mae. Mother Sheila and stepfather William O'Brien, sister Kim Niess and nephew Christopher Hendricks. Donald is predeceased by Donald Pittenger Sr. and niece Alyssa Hendricks.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations for a trust fund for Madison Pittenger.
