

FORT WORTH - DORIS CORBIN GIBSON, 96, of Fort Worth passed away Tuesday night December 12, 2017. GRAVESIDE SERVICE: A graveside service was held Tuesday, December 19 at Laurel Land Cemetery in Fort Worth. A memorial service will be held at the United First Methodist Church in Graham, Texas on Saturday, January 20 at 1 pm in the Chapel. Box 1890, Amarillo Tx. 79174, Doris was born in Muskogee, Oklahoma January 30, 1921. She lived most of her life in Graham, Texas where she retired after many years as an engineering assistant and design technician at the Texas Highway Department. A lifetime member of the First United Methodist Church, she was also a member of the Silas Morton Chapter NSDAR, CLSC, Graham Woman’s Club, Lions Club, Country Club, and Young County Republican Party and a member of the Fort Worth Women's Club and several DAR area Regents Councils. Doris enjoyed duplicate and social bridge for many yeras. Doris was a proud member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, National Society of the Colonial Dames of America, the Colonial Dames of the XVII Century and National Society of the Daughters of the United States of 1812. She served the State Society of DAR as State Librarian, State Recording Secretary and State Chaplain. Doris and her husband were ballroom dance enthusiasts and members of Fort Worth Farando and Metro dance Clubs and the Big Band Dance Club in Wichita Falls. She was an avid college football fan and a dedicated supporter of the Oklahoma Sooners. Doris was preceded in her death by her parents Helen and Howard Corbin, her sister Kathleen Green, and her husband of 28 years, Charles Gibson. SURVIVORS: Daughter Sharon Allen and husband Chris, and daughter, Dawn Ellison, granddaughter Courtney Amason and husband Bryan, Great grandchildren Blayne and Myles Amason, and Codi and her husband Kaden Walters, nieces and their families and great friends in Graham and Fort Worth.
