Dorothy Langston

A Graveside Service will be held on Monday, October 17, 2022, at 12 PM at Newport Cemetery, Newport, Texas with Dr. Scott Langston officiating.

Dorothy was born in Fort Worth, Texas to Owen Horace Lee and Nona Grant on October 2, 1925. She married John Newton Langston, Jr on December 9, 1949, in Fort Worth. She graduated from Polytechnic High School, Fort Worth, and worked in various jobs, including as a secretary for the Civil Aeronautics Authority (later known as the Federal Aviation Administration) and for several churches. She was active in many churches, including Temple Baptist Church (Fort Worth), Mims Baptist Church (Conroe), West Conroe Baptist Church, and River Pointe Baptist Church (Conroe). She lived out her Christian faith in many ways, including praying for her family and serving churches by playing the piano, working as financial secretary, and helping found new churches.

Dorothy is preceded in death by her husband, John Newton Langston, Jr,; her parents, Owen Horace Lee and Nona Grant; her sister, Hazel Carter; and her step-daughter, Gloria Jean Nash.

Dorothy is survived by her two sons and their spouses, Steve and Jenice Langston and Scott and Donna Langston; six grandchildren, Brandi Blair (spouse, Daniel), Matthew Langston, April Langston, Sarah Chance (spouse, Josh), John Langston (spouse, Katherine), and Caroline Langston, and several great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be given to River Pointe Baptist Church, 700 Gladstell Rd, Conroe, TX 77304.
