Dorothy was born January 25, 1942 to Garland C. Hammond and Lovie Louise Smith.
Dorothy attended Wharton County Junior College and graduated from Sam Houston State College. She dedicated her life to the education of others as a Computer Science Teacher at Tarrant County College, where she retired from.
She married the love of her life, Morris Poteet on May 2, 1969. He preceded her in death.
Dorothy is survived from her cousin, Annette Lockler; special family friends, Tommy and Carol Lovette; and many other special friends.
