Dwayne was born November 3, 1961 at Fort Riley, Kansas. He was a loved husband, father, grandfather, brother, friend, boss and hero. He served in the United States Army from 1979 to 1985 as MP and heavy equipment operator. Dwayne had a friendly personality and anyone he met was considered a friend, he was the guy that you met and never forgot. He was the first one there to help a friend however he could.
Dwayne was a loving husband and supportive father of four children and “Papa” to four amazing grandsons that he loved and bragged about to anyone that would listen. His many hobbies included anything outdoors, hunting, fishing and cooking. He had a passion and natural talent for cooking outside that was unmatched. He was often called Papa B-B-Q, for good reason, his B-B-Q was better than any restaurant around. He also enjoyed passing this talent on to as many people as he could.
He took pride in any job he ever took on. With being an equipment operator, mechanic, craftsman, and supervisor, it was easy for him to take apart anything that was broken, diagnose it, fix it, and put it back together. He was a dedicated employee and one of the hardest working men you will ever meet.
Dwayne is survived by his loving wife Carla Elliott of Justin; son Waylon Elliott and wife Melanie of Justin; daughter Candice Goen and husband Ed of Millsap; son Justin Elliott and wife Stevie Jo of Audubon, MN; and daughter Amy Berryhill and husband Mitchell of Springtown.
