Eddie George Edwards was born to Dean Benjamin and George Ann Mills Edwards on May 14, 1947 in Marshall, Texas. He attended both H.B. Pemberton Junior High and graduated from H.B. Pemberton High School in 1965. He then went on to Wiley College where he was a standout college pitcher, and while in college he met, fell in love and married Mary Jo (Kyser) Edwards. To this union, was born Benjamin Eugene Edwards (Benjie). One of the greatest roles in his life was being a grandfather. He loved his sweet Mariah, whether he was reviewing multiplication tables, eating licorice jelly beans or reminding her to be mindful to her parents.
Eddie George Edwards is preceded in death by both of his parents Benjamin and George Ann Edwards; six brothers (Billy Marcus Edwards, Aubrey James Brookins, Willie Joseph Edwards, Bennie Brookins and Vernon Edwards, Robert Eugene Edwards and three sisters Roberta Edwards and Rosalyn Edwards Reeves Verda Bethal Edwards Lane.
His survivors include his wife Mary Jo Edwards, son Benjamin Eugene Edwards, daughter-in-law Dr. Tamara Moore Edwards and his lovely granddaughter Mariah Bailey Edwards (Lil Mo) all who live in Pearland, Texas; two sisters Rev. Mayme Lucille Smith and Ethel Edwards Ervin both living Marshall, Texas, two -sister-in-laws (Ms. Claudette Edwards and Dr. Joan Edwards) and a host of nieces, cousins and friends.
