Eddie was born June 15, 1934 in Griffith Switch, Texas to Alvah Sr. and Ivy Mahanay. He married Patricia Kiesling on July 18, 1959 in Fort Worth.
Eddie worked for Bell Helicopter as a plater until 1983 when he had to retire early due to illness. He battled lung disease for over 40 years.
His hobbies were growing tomatoes in his garden and fishing with his friend and neighbor Frank Schienk.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Alvah Sr. and Ivy Mahanay; wife, Patricia Kiesling Mahanay; brother and sister-in-law, Alvah Jr. and Wilma Mahanay; sister, Luetta Mahanay Bull; son-in-law, Scott Worley; mother-in-law, Ruby Kiesling; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Sonny and Barbara Bishop; brother-in-law, Kenneth Kiesling.
He is survived by daughters, Sherri Bryson and Lisa Worley; son Scott Mahanay; Grandchildren Jeff (Tina) Mahanay, Michael (Mary) Dickinson, Lauren (Kyle) Daniel, Whitney (Scott) Newman, Kelly (Mandie) Worley; 10 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren, sister-in-laws Lafon (Bill) Higginbotham and Carolyn Kiesling; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends and family for visitation from 6 to 8 p.m Thursday, March 21, 2024 at Shannon Funeral Chapel 6001 Rufe Snow Drive, Watauga, TX 76148. Graveside service will be held Friday, March 22, 2024 at BlueBonnet Hills in Colleyville 5725 Colleyville Blvd, Colleyville TX 76034.
