

Ellen Joy Pesserillo, a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother and friend to many, left this earth peacefully on July 14, 2016. Friends are encouraged to gather for a celebration of life between 5-7 Wednesday, July 20, 2017 in the Bistro of Shannon Rufe Snow Funeral Chapel to remember and share memories of Ellen.
In lieu of customary remembrances the family requests donations in her name be made to the MPN Research Foundation http://mpnresearchfoundation.org.
Ellen was born to Sol and Ethel Shalat on August 29, 1950, in Bronx, New York. She served in the Naval Reserve for over six years and was an officer for the US Immigration during the Amnesty Program. After her formal education Ellen moved to Texas to become the Director of Dental Hygiene Program at Tarrant County College. Later she became a successful attorney In Tarrant County and opened the Law Office of Ellen Pesserillo in Bedford.
Ellen loved entertaining in her home with many of her close friends, playing golf, mahjongg, and being creative. The family would like to thank Agape Home Care and Covenant Hospice for providing compassionate care until the end.
She is survived by her wife Linda Bower, daughter Robin Laxton and her husband Herb; sister Sheryl Barocas and her husband Jack; brother Stephen Shalat and his wife Harriett; grandchildren Anya, Karina, Niki and Edward; niece Rachel and nephew Matthew and great nephew Max; and her pets Desi and Lucy.
