Born on July 19, 1949, in La Feria, Texas, Elvira lived a life defined by kindness, compassion, and an unwavering love for others. She had a remarkable gift for making everyone feel welcome and cared for. To know Elvira was to know a friend, a confidant, and often a grandmother figure. She never met a stranger and had a way of making everyone feel like family. Whether through a kind word, a helping hand, or a warm hug, Elvira was always there for anyone who needed her.
Her greatest joy was her family. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose love knew no bounds. She cherished every opportunity to spend time with those she loved and created lasting memories through her generosity, laughter, and caring spirit.
Elvira is survived by her daughters, Esperanza Santiago and husband Angelo, and Raquel Caruso and husband Chris; her granddaughters, Sofia Santiago, Kelly DiBenedetto and husband Kyle, and Eden Sheafer and husband Andrew; and her beloved great-granddaughter, Ofelia Sheafer.
She is also survived by her siblings, Elva Martinez, Elena De La Rosa, Emma Robles, Eva Robles, Elias Robles, and Edio Robles, along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends whose lives were touched by her kindness and friendship.
Though our hearts are heavy with her loss, we take comfort in the countless lives she touched through her compassion, generosity, and unconditional love. Her legacy lives on in the family she adored and in the many people fortunate enough to have known her.
A Celebration of Life will be held on July 19, 2026, in her hometown of La Feria, Texas, on what would have been her 77th birthday. Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance of Elvira’s life, share cherished memories, and celebrate the love and joy she brought to so many.
She will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever held in our hearts.
