Ernest Ray Inman Jr.

Ernest Ray Inman Jr. passed away 12-27-2017, peacefully, at home, surrounded by loved ones. Ray was born 1-23-1948 in California to Bernice and Ernest Inman Sr., the third of four sons. Ray had a great childhood in southern California. He had many fond memories of camping with his family and roughhousing with his brothers and many cousins. Ray followed in his dad’s foot steps and worked for General Motors after high school. He stayed with general motors for his entire career. He worked at the Van Nuys plant in California where he built Camaros for many years prior to transferring to Fort Worth Texas in the early nineties. He made friends with many of his co-workers over the years who called him “Little Ernie”. He got this nickname as a teen ager when his dad still worked at GM, but the name stuck for all four decades of his career. Ray married his high school sweetheart Marcia. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in May of 2017. Ray was a devoted and loving husband and loved Marcia with all of his heart. Ray and Marcia created a loving family together. They had four kids, Wendi, Debbie, and the twins Jeremy and Jeff. Ray is remembered as an incredibly supportive father and loving grandfather. The home that Ray and Marcia created has always been filled with love and lots of laughter. Ray enjoyed playing cards with his adult kids and was always willing and ready to hold a baby, attend a recital, or have a lightsaber fight with the grandkids. Ray loved to travel, watch westerns, eat good food, and cheer for the Texas Rangers. He leaves a legacy of love through his family and their memories. He is predeceased by his parents Bernice and Ernest Inman, and his brother Robert Inman. He is survived by his wife Marcia; and his children Wendi (Robert) Beardsley, Debora (Sherry) Inman, Jeff (Karen) Inman, and Jeremy Inman. He is also survived by grandchildren Morgan, Caitlin, Bethany, Brendan, Silas, Finn, and Jasper. Ray loved his pets and leaves behind Daisy, Dolly and Daphne. Surviving brothers Larry (Marylin) Inman and Sandy (Lynn) Inman.
