

Estella Solis Cabrera was born in Alice, Texas on January 6, 1937. Her parents were Jesus and Christina Solis. They had 7 children and Estella was number 6. It was then that she was known as her childhood nickname “La Muñeca” for always having a clear complexion and a beautiful smile that reminded everyone of a doll.
Her and her family moved to Hebron, TX where she attended school and her father owned the town market.
Estella met her husband Gilberto Cabrera through a blind date in 1957 at the Bailé. Shortly after they were married on March 24, 1957. They had 7 children by the names of Gilbert, Richard, Velma, Jesse, Lisa, Ronnie, and Diana. They lived in Texas and relocated to California in 1963. They started their adventure in Monrovia, California where they spent a few years before moving to Duarte, California. It was in 1972 where they finally moved to Azusa, California where they purchased a large lot that later became the home to several family members. In 2009 they ended up here in Fort Worth, Texas.
Estella was known for being a very hard worker of many traits. She spent her working career at major companies such as Northrop, Xerox, Aerojet, Royal Oaks manor, Santa Teresita Hospital, and she and her husband were also owners of a bakery. Her accomplishments consisted of working in the Aerospace Industry. She was extremely proud of having worked on the B2 Bomber Plane and the MILES Program at the Loral Corporation.
She was very fond of her many collections which included Barbies, spoons, antiques, and Christmas Collections. Her favorite past-times were gathering with her family and tending to her garden filled with Martha Washingtons, roses, and other beautiful flowers. She loved to cook amazing meals for her family. Everyone always looked forward to her delicious Christmas tamales. Christmas was the time of year she loved the most.
She is remembered today through her husband, Gilberto Cabrera, 7 children, 21 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren. One thing Estella will be remembered for is always showing her unconditional love for everyone in her family! She will be dearly missed.
